Boredom avoidanceBoredom is a state of dissatisfaction triggered by a lack of interest in one's life. Individuals with high boredom proneness are more likely to experience maladaptive behaviour. For example, excessive media intake, drug use, or self-inflicted injury are common among those with a high degree of boredom proneness. This study explored no matter if people's maladaptive behaviours usually tend to arise from boredom. We used a novel set of self-inflicted injury items to degree boredom avoidance, as well as existing measures to evaluate adaptive and maladaptive behaviour. The outcomes of the study showed that both kinds of maladaptive behaviour were significantly correlated with boredom avoidance and proneness to flee. Specifically, our outcomes advised that the degree to which an individual feels the urge to flee boredom predicts their risk of conducting harmful and risky behaviours. Our findings suggest that coping mechanisms are best optimized with the accumulation of event. It is therefore possible that links between poor self-handle and not more adaptive behaviours are responsible for the larger association between SBPS and DWB-M. A small effective correlation was also found among the SBPS score and the BAE score. However, beyond the SBPS, the BAE had no large relationship with the chance of carrying out dangerous behaviours.
