The Cabinet Office said on Tuesday that the country's seasonally adjusted real gross domestic product (GDP) shrank at an annualised rate of 28. 1%, down from an earlier estimate of 29. 7%. The drop is as a result of the falling inner most funding and public spending. In addition to a weaker economy, Japan is also affected by a deteriorating labor condition. Japanese agencies require personnel to work long hours, often for no pay. Some research have shown that overworking is linked to depression and suicide. In fact, nearly 1/4 of Japanese agencies mandate employees to work as a minimum 80 hours a month. These hours are sometimes unpaid and often do not count toward their month-to-month total. In the post-war years, Japan's financial system elevated at unprecedented rates. This economic growth also helped the country develop into a mass customer society.
