As the pornographic industry is pushed to the fringes, artisanal performers who make and sell their own porn, argue that the sex itself is the genuine deal. Their arguments are according to the idea that porn is an emancipatory assignment, and that it captures the genuine exhilaration and sexuality of women. Porn also is a cultural phenomenon, and it has permeated every aspect of our lives. There are now more porn sites online than CNN, and some of the sex on offer is less regulated and more sexist than ever before. While some might think it's a clichd, if truth be told that the cyber web is bringing an entire new world of pirating and sharing to the porn world. These changes will affect the industry's enterprise model. There are also new companies stoning up to combat the proliferation of porn. Stop Porn Culture and Pink and White Productions are trying to break the tube site monopoly, while others are fighting for fairer pay and dealing situations. Ultimately, though, most porn is still conservative. Despite a up to date drop in applications for porn-shoot permits, lots of the work remains to be unregulated, and many of the movies are short and unremarkable. For example, the Museum of Modern Art in Porno: A Survey of a Vintage Pornographic Magazine explores the fine art features of a traditional pornographic magazine.
