The nation has a very diverse view of marriage and sex. In fact, more than one in five couples accept as true with themselves married but haven't had sex within the past month. The number is becoming every year, setting a record for the maximum prevalence of sexless marriages in Japan. This book examines the which means of sex and sexlessness in contemporary Japan. By evaluating the public and academic discourses on sexlessness in Japan with those in Germany and Austria, the book questions even if the phenomenon of sexlessness is a Japanese problem or a world phenomenon. It engages in a re-analysis of the that means of sex and divulges how it impacts the lives of single couples. In 2004, the Japan Family Planning Association began polling its individuals about sexless marriage. This year, the survey was performed by hand-added survey slips to nearly 3,000 people between the ages of 16 and 49. The company also interviewed a couple of hundred married men and ladies.
