It's dangerousThe Japanese government is considering enacting more durable laws to crack down on child pornography. The country signed the UN protocol banning the production and distribution of child pornography in 2005. The public helps tougher laws. However, a draft law drafted in 2008 was stalled in parliament due to political competition. Lawmakers feared the law may be misused to frame political opponents. Therefore, they just proposed punishing those that acquire or obtain child pornography distinct times. Additionally, bar associations in Japan opposed a ban on the possession of child pornography and argued that the law would give police too much leeway to use the law. In Japan, pornography has always been subject to censorship, but censorship has been very superficial. Most films are censored by blockading out or blurring sex organs. The government has even allowed some hardcore films about rape to circulate with only a fuzzy spot over the center. The films were controversial and caused mixed reactions.
