Often, a humdrum task can be made interesting by changing the task's context. You may are looking to try replacing the boring video with a captivating one. However, here's not an easy task. It also may not solve the challenge for you. Another question that arose from this study was how the mood induction video actually effected contributors. To answer this, the researchers conducted two experiments. Participants got a "Boredom" and a "Media Multitasking" video to monitor. During the Boredom trial, contributors viewed a run of the mill video, while during the Media Multitasking trial, they watched a run of the mill video while concurrently acting a tad bit more appealing task. The effects are shown in Figure 7. The effects were a mixed bag. Although the mood induction video was valuable, the outcomes were not statistically large.
