The film specializes in the importance of passing down knowledge to younger generations, while at the same time showing how college students can learn independently. It reminds students not to neglect their mentors, particularly once they become a success in their chosen fields. The movie is jam-packed with excellent performances and cinematography, making it a precious film to see. While the film doesn't feel particularly customary, it is visually stunning. The tap dance sequences, for example, are fantastically edited. The jazzy score is also a highlight. The film's flaws come with the film's loss of originality, and its everyday biopic tropes. Nevertheless, it shows admiration for the field, and as such, is a work of affection.
