The use of deepfakes by artists has spurred a public dialog about public figures, individual images, and social issues. In one case, Stephanie Lepp used the video platform to share her videos that depict people saying things which are contradictory to their public persona. Another video project by Bill Poster and Daniel Howe in 2019 featured doppelgangers of Kim Kardashian. In the past year, Reddit and Pornhub banned deepfake videos. However, they can still be found on stand-alone sites. The author of one such site, who spoke on situation of anonymity, said the positioning attracts over 20,000 unique guests a day and is starting to be hastily. Celebrity images are among the most efficient draws of deepfakes, and they're an easy target for these fakes. In fact, deepfakes have even been used to skew similar to a political candidate. While these videos should not supposed for public consumption, they're meant to serve a political aim.
