We used a combination of 3 samples of participants from Hungary to answer our query. These samples covered ladies and men. We tested the effect of a novelty video boredom induction and an uneventful video task on two assorted sets of participants. For each set, we asked them to finished a chain of multitasking tasks. As shown in the figure above, the attention induction was not as constructive as the boring one. However, we did find that there has been a small but statistically giant boom in the time spent multitasking on the boring one. Our study is the primary to check the effect of a novelty video boredom on media multitasking. It is a promising discovery that the newness video boredom induction can result in an improvement in the speed of media multitasking. However, we cannot say that it will always be the case. If the newness video boredom induction is replaced by a more interesting task, the outcomes may be neutralized. Nonetheless, the findings supply a useful guide to how users interact with media in their day-to-day lives.
