Porn videos are very wide-spread among young adults and young adults. In fact, 9 out of 10 boys and 6 out of 10 girls are exposed to pornography before the age of 18. It is estimated that the common American child first encounters pornography at the age of twelve. The urge to observe pornography can be triggered by home tradition, social exposure, or even boredom. Porn reduces sexual stigmaIt is not clear if porn intake reduces sexual stigma. But it isn't clear whether the privilege of anonymity offered by porn is actually a benefit. The authors evaluate the historical and social basis of sexual stigma and the way it functions in the context of porn intake. They argue that porn's popularity may give a contribution to a discount of sexual stigma by giving shoppers the opportunity to hear porn performers speak freely. The perception of porn stigma may affect a consumer's commitment to deciding to buy porn. Although a minority of respondents cited lack of economic means as the primary reason for not buying porn, many other factors contributed to not deciding to buy porn: lack of data about corporations, lack of belief in the impact of consumer choice, and fear that porn companies will appear on their bank statement. Porn may help reduce sexual stigma because xxx-rated videos and pictures show that fetishes are legitimate and never dangerous.
