This style of show has a long tradition in Japan, but is awfully different from the Western game show format. The Japanese game show format is very alternative, and has a strange and bizarre style. Candy or not candy is one of the superior Japanese game shows. In the show, contestants are asked to guess whether an object is edible or not before taking a bite of it. This format can be played for prizes, that can range from US $250,000 to a trip to Japan. The show is presently broadcast on Fuji TV but older episodes are available on YouTube. Several adaptations of the sport show have been featured on the show. The first edition of the sport was called Gesture and was a televised version of charades. It wasn't until 36-40 years later that the Japanese game show genre took off in a big way. The second edition of the game show was called Takeshi's Castle, which was a biannual diversity show. Majide followed the Majide competitors, but it also featured contestants' daily lives external of the sport show.
