In a study published by the University of Hong Kong, over half of scholars surveyed said they would favor on-line sex schooling. This new study, in response to an online survey, checked out students' sexual attitudes and capabilities, and located a need for change in sex schooling. In China, the textbooks for sexual schooling are more explicit than those used in Western nations, and scholars read them at home. This led to widespread condemnation of a up to date pilot programme in Beijing that integrated an "overly picture" textbook for toddlers. Many parents claimed that this was pornography for infants and perverted their minds. But some argue that the textbooks are essential in China because children need realistic sexual education. While Western cultures are more tolerant of pornography than Asians, Asian cultures are more conservative of their attitudes and practices regarding sexuality. In Asian contexts, the emphasis on excitement is often placed on marital or sex, and non-marital or leisure sex actions are shamed and devalued. Furthermore, in more conservative cultures, sexuality is tied to family honor.
