It's also a hilarious and demanding statement on our society's obsession with porn. The raunchy humor and realistically picture anthropomorphic nudity make Fritz the Cat probably the most common and early types of adult animation. While it can be filled with caricatures of porn and drug use, Fritz the Cat also is crammed with deeper motivations. The movie was published many years before its time or even earned an X-rated rating. The film's empathetic treatment of the discipline matter also is noteworthy. Bakshi interviews real people to add an extra layer of realism to the film. Instead of using actors to painting pornographers, he animates conversations between widespread people and characters. These interviews also add a large number of depth to the tale. However, the film's episodic nature makes it easy to lose focus at times. The film's setting is a squalid, New York apartment building. Its inhabitants are mostly homeless.
