Asian pornography often reinforces this stereotype and can encourage violence towards Asian women. This fetishization of Asian men and girls is a symptom of a bigger cultural challenge. There are few Asian males in American tv shows and flicks that depict a more diverse group. Instead, Asian women are provided as submissive and passive to the white man. These stereotypes are a made of Western imperialism and are a part of a larger sociocultural framework. The origins of Asian pornography aren't known, but there are several students who point to alternative ancestries.
