She argues that porno is a sort of sex discrimination that have to be eliminated before sex equality can be achieved. This perspective places her in direct war with free speech advocates. However, she notes that courts have ruled that freedom of speech has boundaries. During the 1980s, the feminist anti-pornography motion helped to pass laws against pornography. In the United States, cities passed ordinances to outlaw pornography. But these laws were challenged in court. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the Indianapolis law as unconstitutional. In the top, the Supreme Court ruled that the ordinances violated the rights of folk and were thus unconstitutional. Pornography also causes harm to the ethical independence of girls.
