Japanese women place a high value on their feminine persistence. Women in Tokyo don't even dare to make a protest in opposition t the crowds. Commuters describe sexual assault on the train in two different modes of signification: the gendered violence and the city crowds. The former enacts gendered violence in transit spaces, while the latter represents a new type of social family members in town. Although many male passengers refused to acknowledge the time-honored nature of sexual attack on Tokyo trains, some of them said it was the norm for men to touch women in a huge crowd.
