A 2015 paper reviewed neuroscientific literature to examine whether pornography viewing fits the definition of addiction. Another study from 2017 looked at the brain endeavor of men attempting treatment for complicated pornography. The researchers noted that pornography use is associated with greater pastime in the ventral striatum region. The study, even though, found no good science to aid the claims of porn addiction. In fact, most articles on porn dependancy fail to cite any data, and those who do cite data are not scientifically rigorous. Many articles latest anecdotal facts, others build on unproven theories, and a few are simply filled with junk science. Porn is addictive because it triggers reward-associated brain mechanisms. While porn is not bodily addictive, it triggers a person's desire for sexual gratification without regard for the relationship.
