When it was first launched in 1959, critics proclaimed it the best Japanese film ever made. However, this masterpiece was never re-launched and was long conception lost until a condensed print was discovered in 1991. A new generation of audience could now appreciate this undying masterpiece. The film was nominated for an Academy Award in 1989 and was the first Japanese film to be nominated in the category. The film was also tailored from a singular by Yasushi Sato, who tragically dedicated suicide in 1990. This trilogy fueled a resurgence of samurai cinema in the early twenty-first century. The film was so a hit that riots broke out in Japan. In fact, it became essentially the most successful Japanese film of the silent era. Despite its arguable nature, the film is a joy to watch. The cast is incredible and the cinematography is breathtaking. This film combines a lot of historical references with a trendy narrative.
