Their tentacles are used to ensnare their prey and drag them into the base of the tentacles, where they are then digested and fed on. In a standard attack, the creature will grab their prey and then simply twist them into a good bundle, then pull them into the pit at the base of its tentacles. When a player encounters a tentacle monster, they can shoot at the stalk that the creature's head is attached to to drive it into its pit. While this will temporarily drive the monster out of range, it is customarily best to crouch or use explosives (preferably hand grenades) as a distraction. The Tentacle Monster is a damaging, but clever monster that responds to sound and vibrations. In the first Half-Life episode, it is the main threat to Hyun Cha and Jisu as they try to rescue Dusik Hahn from its clutches. Despite their attempts to kill it with Wook Pyeon's guns, it simply discovered to use its sprinkler system to save itself from being killed. Its limbs have the potential to mutate, turning them into spider-leg-like appendages that can be used as spike defenses. It can also create a pit in which it can retreat when surrounded by enemies, permitting the player to sneak up on it and destroy it with out drawing consideration to themselves. They are sometimes depicted as unnerving, threatening creatures that may tear their victims apart. Their tentacles can even be used to wrap around a body and ensnare it.10.04.2023
