Traditionally, liberals have defended the proper of pornography to exist. While they do not share the conservatives' desire to ban pornography, they do agree that the industry preys on inclined populations, totally women. They also accept as true with that pornography has the potential to undermine the equal civil rights of ladies. A variety of liberals have proposed that the "harm principle" can be a basis for censorship. The precept is defined greatly, but must be supported by some reliable proof of harm to other people.
