The study aimed to determine the impact of pornography on the sexual attitudes and behaviours of young girls in deprived settings. It consisted of an international survey of 9,250 teens aged 10-14 years in five urban areas. Participants were interviewed by phone, video-conference, and face-to-face. The interviews lasted 60 to 90 minutes. Pornography is a usual and widely-available type of entertainment. Studies have shown that youth who've watched porn are more likely to be promiscuous than girls who haven't. However, males are likely to seek out pornography more than women. Most ladies who were exposed to pornography did so involuntarily. Pornography can also act as a coaching tool for women. Frontline staff who work with high-risk folks have expressed their concern about the role porn plays in educating young girls. Pornography often portrays sex in simplistic ways, with very little consideration of the repercussions that it could cause.
