Legality of online pornoThe legality of online pornography is a hotly debated topic. Since the emergence of the Internet in the early 1990s, legislators and the public were arguing over how to modify this content. Some have tried to manage pornography on moral grounds, while others have defended it as free speech. The Supreme Court has set a typical for obscenity, and state legislatures have passed laws protecting children. However, most of these laws have failed in court, which has left the cyber web porn industry with few rules. Some countries, such as Canada, have passed laws that regulates the creation of pornography. Under these laws, common producers of pornographic content must hold facts. Many pornography sites exhibit a disclaimer that explains this law. But despite this, the Department of Justice rarely enforces the law. In the USA, however, the Department of Justice has begun examining larger commercial pornography companies in Los Angeles. The Internet is a global medium, which makes it difficult to enact strict laws concerning pornography.
