This discovering also indicates that Japanese people's non-public possibilities are not as far removed from their perceived norms as those of Indian people. This may be due to indisputable fact that social cues often prompt normative considerations, but they don't always push people clear of their private choices. The Japanese look like less prompted by these cues, and their options in social contexts match their options better. Future research is had to test these hypotheses and find out the level to which individuals's possibilities are inspired by social cues. The main effect of culture on alternative was not huge, but the interaction between situation and culture was.
