The authors observe the historic and social basis of sexual stigma and how it applications in the context of porn intake. They argue that porn's recognition may contribute to a discount of sexual stigma by giving consumers the chance to hear porn performers speak freely. The belief of porn stigma may affect a client's commitment to buying porn. Although a minority of respondents cited loss of economic means as the fundamental reason for not deciding to buy porn, many other factors contributed to not buying porn: loss of knowledge about businesses, lack of belief in the impact of client choice, and fear that porn agencies will appear on their bank commentary. Porn can help reduce sexual stigma simply because xxx-rated videos and pictures display that fetishes are legit and not dangerous. These videos also help reassure the viewer that their fetishes are not isolated in the minds of alternative people.
