The main effect of culture on choice was not giant, but the interaction among situation and tradition was. After controlling for variables, the Japanese individuals showed higher option-choice consistency than the Americans. This was supported by the incontrovertible fact that they were more likely to prefer foreigners over natives in the face condition. The PCC and SCC scales correlated well among both cultures.
