Another aspect of Asian pornography is that Asian women are often underrepresented in the widely wide-spread media and in the jobs of both perpetrators and victims. Asian pornography often reinforces this stereotype and might inspire violence in opposition t Asian women. This fetishization of Asian men and women is a symptom of a bigger cultural problem. There are few Asian males in American television shows and flicks that depict a more assorted group. Instead, Asian women are offered as submissive and passive to the white man. These stereotypes are a product of Western imperialism and are part of a larger sociocultural framework. The origins of Asian pornography aren't known, but there are a few scholars who point to alternative ancestries.
