It organizes annual awards ceremonies in Geneva and any watch brand can participate with one or more watches published after March and before October of any year. To qualify, a brand must submit an end entry form and current at the least one watch at the ceremony. The award, shaped like a hand, was designed by Genevan painter Roger Pfund, and it symbolizes the know-how and mastery of watchmaking crafts. Each year, a jury is formed to examine which timepieces will acquire GPHG Awards. The Jury is led by historian and author Nick Foulkes, and is constructed from 30 members. The Jury also is increasing in 2020 to encompass a new initiative called the GPHG Academy. This Academy includes 350 watch specialists and industry experts. The GPHG Awards rite is held in November annually. Winners are announced in each class. To qualify for the 2021 edition, an eye must have been launched in advertisement sales after May 2020, and it needs to be for sale by the top of October 2021. The 2021 edition of the awards is open to monitor agencies from in every single place the world.
