The movie is told in flashbacks and is a compelling watch. Initially, Brittany was born Adrian T. Cortez and commenced her career in gay pornography in 1999. In 2005, she decided to alter gender and become a girl. She has been featured on almost 50 box covers and was nominated for a 2001 GayVN Award. She also gained fame after making a cameo in Borat (2006). Despite the empowering message of this film, it also is a dismal representation of the body. Brittany is overweight and directionless. The film opens together with her at a doctor's appointment seeking Adderall. She then starts a new diet regime and takes up operating to lose weight. She then sets her sights on the New York City Marathon, a goal she hopes to obtain.
