Both groups give a contribution helpful observations that enable scientists to make vital discoveries and gain perception into our planet's ecology. Scientists and amateur astronomers often collaborate, with some even coauthoring books or papers together. Amateur astronomers have contributed to the discovery of big storms on Saturn as well as reports into brief solar eclipse phenomena that often go ignored by professionals. Many scientific advances could not were made with out the work of amateurs who make observations and collect data for research. They deliver scientists with the devices to study planets, stars, and comets. Amateur scientists have made a large number of breakthroughs and helped scientists better recognize how the realm functions. Not only do these amateurs deliver invaluable data and information, but many also serve as assets of inspiration and motivation for other scientists in the group. Some of these amateurs are so experienced at their crafts that they make a living from it. For instance, French taxi driver Pierre Morvan has gathered Asian ground beetles for over two decades and is an expert on their ecology. Additionally, he serves as liaison to his nation's herbal-resource agency and was presented the Rolex Award for Enterprise. The word amateur could have a negative connotation, yet it still retains its fashioned that means: an individual who enjoys doing anything.
