Regardless of its barriers, the Japanese censorship laws for pornography are still one of the most strictest on the earth. The law has become a focus for debate over Japanese freedom of speech. The Japanese Penal Code (JP) prohibits sharing or allotting "indecent constituents," which are films, games, and videos that depict human genitalia. Despite these legal restrictions, adult Japanese artists have blurred out their genitalia and used electronic mosaics to conform to Japanese censorship laws. Another instance of this self-censorship system is the censorship of overseas guides and flicks. Various foreign governments and artists exert force on the Japanese govt to make foreign guides and movies censor-free in Japan. For instance, the censorship laws do not prohibit DVDs from the United States or France.
