While the Chinese domain name system developed as a result of Chinese participation in foreign networks, Chinese political leaders placed a heavy emphasis on maintaining cyber-sovereignty. The Chinese management has become more and more confident about buying a dominant position on the worldwide Internet, and has adopted a more cooperative angle toward multi-stakeholder processes. In recent years, the nation has greater its participation in ICANN meetings. The participation of high-level officials is generally interpreted as a sign of goodwill. Furthermore, it may indicate that Chinese experts are conscious about the sensitive nature of these issues. While ICANN will not review gTLD functions for trademark infringement, third events can file objections in opposition t the proposed gTLD. They can object to a proposed gTLD name in accordance with existing legal rights, a potential string confusion with an present TLD, or public interest considerations. Objectors could be allowed to reply to an objection within 30 days of being notified. The approvals to limit Chinese tld names come after Verisign acquired popularity of a change to its registry back-end system.
