The watch was one of a couple of nominees on the shortlist and at last won the GPHG 2021 Challenge Prize, which acknowledges one of the best watches under CHF 3,500. It competed towards other budget-friendly timepieces, adding the Oris Divers Sixty Cotton Candy and the Massena Lab Uni-Racer. GPHG 2021 logoThe Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) is a foundation dedicated to the promoting of watchmaking art. It organizes annual awards ceremonies in Geneva and any watch brand can participate with a number of watches launched after March and before October of any year. To qualify, a brand must submit an end entry form and present as a minimum one watch at the ceremony. The award, shaped like a hand, was designed by Genevan painter Roger Pfund, and it symbolizes the wisdom and mastery of watchmaking crafts. Each year, a jury is shaped to check which timepieces will acquire GPHG Awards. The Jury is led by historian and author Nick Foulkes, and is comprised of 30 members. The Jury also is expanding in 2020 to include a new initiative called the GPHG Academy. This Academy includes 350 watch experts and industry experts. The GPHG Awards rite is held in November annually.
