According to separate surveys performed in Japan, the choice of single Japanese has higher by over two million in the last three decades. In 2015, nearly one-in-four women and one-in-three men were single. Interestingly, greater than half of these individuals do not want to enter a heterosexual dating. The cause of this disinterest may lie in socioeconomic factors. In other words, Japanese men and women tend to stay single for much longer than their counterparts. In addition to declining birth rates, Japanese women are also renouncing traditional gender roles. One study from the University of Tokyo found that one-in-four men of their late 30s were single and had no attention in heterosexual relationships.
