Objectification was measured using a questionnaire. Participants got a news clip as a control situation. As part of the study, contributors were asked to fill out a questionnaire about their attitudes against women. They also watched a video clip, which was either a non-violent or consensual erotica. Both clips contained scenes of sexualized women. As part of the experiment, 82 undergraduate men were randomly assigned to one of three situations. The first covered a handle condition of watching a news clip. After the clip, contributors completed a degree of objectification. The effects showed that exposure to erotica was linked to a discount in objectification. In the era of social media, using erotica in a broader context has been a well-liked topic of dialog.
