Boogie Nights follows the lifetime of a pornographer in the 1970s. It facets Mark Wahlberg as Dirk Diggler, a young man who becomes a star in the porn industry. He has friends and family who assist him, but his initial routes are complex by drug intoxication and his own ego. Belle de JourThe phrase "Belle de Jour" is a French euphemism for prostitute, and it also is a day lily. It blooms only during the day, making it a fitting title for Severine, who works under the pseudonym of Belle de Jour. In Belle de Jour, Catherine Deneuve plays a dreamy personality with a masochistic bent. The movie starts with the jingling bells of a horse-drawn carriage, and the narrator is a woman who is half asleep. When Severine returns to the brothel, she begins carrier, but is disturbed by a stalker who is after her secret. The film is so hot that critics found it too provocative. However, it won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1967, and keeps to appear on critics' lists. In 1995, Empire journal ranked it as the 56th most beneficial film of all time.
