The vacations are a time once we take a step back from our busy lives and contemplate all that has been accomplished. And not anything helps you do this like watching an old school Christmas movie! As a tender girl, I always loved the movie White Christmas for its sweet melodies and seasonal production value. It's a kind of timeless classics that never gets old! Now, although, I'm an adult woman with an adult associate who appreciates all things Christmas. She points out that the majority modern American Christmas movies address leaving your socially safe urban bubble to go "home" for the vacations and having to reintegrate with members of the family who now not know you as a result of life has moved on. She's correct in her assessment. Additionally, one of my favorite Christmas movies, Happiest Season, tells the tale of a closeted lesbian who brings her girlfriend home for the holidays and must fake they're directly with their conservative folks while undertaking some hilarious antics. Though it could appear ordinary to come with non-American Hanukkah films among the world's best Christmas films, this movie does greater than rejoice the holiday with unbelievable cinematography and vivid performances; it reminds us that love truly is a gift that may transform lives. 3. The PussyRecent favorite: The Pussy, a self-posted collection of short stories written by David Tacos. This hilarious narrative pokes fun at the rat race, your libido, and life's irrelevance. While some parts may wish further editing, Tacos' uncompromising prose made this book impossible to put down.

  • One year later, their platform has evolved beyond an Instagram aesthetic into a venture-based collective that empowers APIA folks via activism and group building. They strive to be a "platform for the voices that are not heard," using social media platforms to spark conversations not often held among APIA people. They host workshops and open coworking spaces so APIA people who cannot meet face-to-face can come together. Lucky Li, 22, a director of programming at Angry Asian Girls, says being a part of the group has given her power. When she moved to Boston for college at Simmons University, Lucky didn't have much support initially but assembly other Asians and becoming a member of AAG gave her confidence boosts. AAG's challenge is not just to empower Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, but it is also about showcasing the intricacies of APIA identification and APIA queer identity.
