Some actors, like David Duchovny, have tried to make the transition from pornography to standard acting. But it is challenging. Hollywood jobs are scarce and often inconsistent, so most actors struggle to make it big in the industry. When money was tight, many Hollywood actors turned to pornography for a more consistent income. One of the first actors to wreck into the adult industry was Traci Lords, who was 16 when she starred in her first porn movie, Penthouse. She also seemed in adult magazines and a large number of other films. She was hailed as the "Princess of Porn" and earned over $1,000 a day. Eventually, she made the transition to mainstream acting, and has since been cast in a few films. Other actors who stepped out of the industry come with Tracey Reeves, a two-time inductee in the AVN Hall of Fame. During the early 80s, she worked as a nude model before transitioning to an adult entertainment career. Her appearances on Red Shoe Diaries weren't limited to porn videos, but she did appear topless in one episode.
