The typical mood of society was one of cynicism, and folk rarely took to the streets to protest or demand political reform. However, this doesn't always mean that the Chinese government is particularly concentrated on foreigners. Rather, it can be that they are trying to re-orient the country toward a more socialist model. The leadership may even see the hot crackdowns as essential in bringing about socialism in China. After all, redistributing wealth is one of the first steps in chopping social inequalities. There are some conventional approaches to achieving these goals, reminiscent of a property tax or a more revolutionary income tax. But these guidelines would likely face stiff opposition from the party elite. The management in China has shown no signs of slowing the regulatory crackdown. The govt has banned Alibaba's Ant Group from directory on stock exchanges and has launched a wide-ranging crackdown on generation giants, prosperous individuals, and tutorial amenities suppliers. Even celebrities and youth video gamers have come under scrutiny. This is a worrying trend, as restraints on Beijing interventions have become more and more challenging to determine.
