The noir genre was established in the 90s because the flicks were cheap and coffee-risk. It also helped to introduce new actors. Don Cheadle's breakout role in Devil in a Blue Dress was one of the best breakout roles of the decade. Jennifer Lopez's early career was also marked by neo-noir movies. Clive Owen also became a star after starring in Croupier. The Grifters is an alternate good example of a noir movie with a sexy girl. Annette Bening gives a breakout performance in this taut mystery.
