The authors evaluate the historical and social basis of sexual stigma and the way it functions in the context of porn intake. They argue that porn's recognition may give a contribution to a discount of sexual stigma by giving consumers the chance to hear porn performers speak freely. The perception of porn stigma may affect a consumer's dedication to deciding to buy porn. Although a minority of respondents cited lack of financial means as the primary reason for not buying porn, many other factors contributed to not paying for porn: lack of skills about agencies, lack of belief in the impact of consumer choice, and fear that porn companies will appear on their bank commentary. Porn can help reduce sexual stigma because xxx-rated videos and images demonstrate that fetishes are legit and never dangerous.
