Chinese government uses internet censorship to combat pornographyThe Chinese government has stepped up its web censorship campaigns as a way to combat pornography. It has instructed technology agencies to restrict the provision of pornographic material on their websites. In a recent statement, the State Council Information Office urged the general public to report pornographic Web sites and posts. The govt has also warned that it'll crack down on online pages that fail to conform to government policies. Internet censorship in China is not new. In fact, it has been in apply because the late 1980s. Chinese censors have been focused on web pages containing pornography and other controversial content material for a long time. The COVID-19 pandemic has made information superhighway censorship even worse, and the govt has stepped up its efforts to crack down on critics of the pandemic.
