Both codecs were regular in the 1970s but they are not a similar. VHS is cheaper to provide and means that you can record more hours of programming than Betamax. Betamax was used by some studios, but was never as accepted. As a result, Betamax pornos are rare. While Betamax and VHS both had their advantages, many of them had flaws. They broke down continually, and the tapes were much more expensive. Additionally, the nice of Betamax and VHS tapes was not considerably better. While early Betamax machines had better image pleasant and build fine, their tapes had a shorter lifespan than their VHS counterparts. Betamax's limited garage means made it difficult to store large amounts of content. Betamax tapes only held 60 minutes of photos, while VHS tapes could hold three hours. Sony had to struggle with this issue and eventually determined not to permit porn on its Betamax tapes.
