According to the survey, the commonest reasons for ladies not to engage in sex are having sexually transmitted diseases, having yet another spouse, or being too tired. However, some states have higher rates of refusal than others. According to the study, 82 per cent of married women report that their husbands have engaged in sexual violence opposed to them. Of these, 84 per cent of them said that they were forced to have sex with their husbands, which is a type of rape under the IPC. The highest percent of women reporting sexual violence by their husbands was present in Karnataka, while the bottom percentage was present in Ladakh.
