Boredom is a frame of mind wherein a person is unsatisfied with the experiences in his life. To extra examine the connection between the two types of behaviour, the current study examined self-infliction and complicated eating in the context of boredom. Self-infliction was assessed using single items, while problematic eating was based on existing measures. All scales contributed to the prediction of adaptive and maladaptive behaviour. The community score for adaptive behaviour was a major predictor of boredom avoidance, while the score for maladaptive behaviour was a significant predictor of escape tendencies. Furthermore, the SBPS score mapped better to the definition of boredom than the DWB-M score. It has a medium terrible correlation with the DWB-A, but a small valuable correlation with the BAE.
