During the Shangri-La period, locals operating barbeque booths and horse riding services put strain on the natural materials of Potatso. Today, the park manages all tourism activities, and helps the locals financially. The local residents were hired as forest rangers in the park, which has facilitated economic advancement. The park has four seasons, each featuring alternative scenery and climate. In spring and summer, alpine meadows blossom with colourful plants, while winter brings barren mountains coated in snow. Visitors will also enjoy the fresh air and making a song birds, which can be heard throughout the park. The Park has many points of interest to offer guests, including a Tibetan-style customs house, Tibetan art, and yak bone carving. Guests can also visit a Tibetan village external the scenic area to be told about the lifetime of the Tibetan people. There, they're able to see a sacred vase and other Tibetan objects.
