A recent Sina poll found that only 2% of respondents agreed with the country's blanket ban on porn. The analysis doesn't measure total erotic cloth consumption in the country, but it does show that porn has a developing market in the country. Porn watching has become an an increasing number of general type of amusement in China, but it continues to be illegal. Pornographic components are more generic among Chinese urbanites than rural dwellers, with men who earn more and those that work in service and industrial industries being more prone to view porn. Porn viewing is also not as common among only kids, with many teenagers born under the one-child policy still living with their oldsters. The widespread recognition of porn in China has motivated a reaction from conservative Chinese, who fear that porn will inspire irrelevant sexual behaviors. Despite the anti-porn campaigns, 68 percent of Chinese young people say they watch porn on a regular basis. According to legitimate statistics, rape cases have reduced in China for the past decade. Porn from Japan may be typical in China, where the Japanese star Sora Aoki is a giant hit. A web search for her name yields over 41 million results, greater than twice as many hits as Yao Ming. A book called People's Pornography by Katrien Jacobs claims that Japanese women in pornography replicate a more authentic and feminine image than their Chinese counterparts.
