In the digital age, it is critical to advertise a good body image. However, this is a frightening task given the many media alternatives available to ladies. Fortunately, a number of recent reports have suggested a dating between web use and body dissatisfaction. A study performed in Canada found that the average Canadian woman spends at least 36 hours a month on the information superhighway. While this is a relatively small amount, it's a high percentage of the common Canadian's time spent online. The analysis shows that social comparisons in typical are correlated with poor body image. Specifically, this study found that Facebook was a more in-depth indicator of poor body image than the ordinary Internet, although the latter is also an option. There are a number of purposes why body dissatisfaction is such a problem in the western world. First, the media portrays unrealistic and idealised body type images. For males, media depictions usually tend to lead to body dissatisfaction as it is usual that men are acutely aware of the pressure to obtain a muscular body. Body dissatisfaction has also been linked to "risky" sexual behaviors and depression.
